Fort Drum-Northern New York Chapter of the Association of the United States Army solicits your support through membership. Below is our resume with some of the Associations accomplishments last year specifically targeted towards retirees. After reading this I'm sure you'll want to join your Voice for the Army and Support for the Soldier!
PAY
- An average across-the-board pay raise of 5% with targeted increases of up to 10%.
- Narrowed the pay gap from 13.5% to less them 10% (4.8% FY00; 3.7 FY 01).
- Reforming pay table for grades E-5 through E-7.
- Reducing soldiers' out of pocket moving expenses for housing to 14.5%, complete elimination by 2005.
- A 4.6 civilian pay raise.
- Survivor Benefits Plan (SBP) coverage for surviving family members of active duty soldiers who die on active duty.
- A 20% increase in Montgomery
G.I. Bill benefits.
HEALTH CARE
- Provide lifetime TRICARE eligibility for Medicare-eligible retirees, no enrollment fees, no co-payments, no deductibles.
- Restored pharmacy access to all medical-eligible retirees.
- Full funding for TRICARE military health care, 6 billion increase for last year.
HOUSING/BARRACKS
- 18% increase in military construction funds for new barracks and family housing.
